Presenting a rare "Princessa" Collection Tsavorite Garnet necklace from Bellarri, brand new and straight from Bellarri's vault.
We say "rare" because Bellarri has made plenty of ring designs with Tsavorite, but necklaces and pendants are few and far between. This particular beauty features a solid 14K White Gold chain and setting, with a total of 2.00 carats of natural, earth-mined, untreated and unheated Tsavorite Garnet plus .18ctw of bright white diamonds.
For those of you who are new to Tsavorite, it's an incredible gemstone with a colorful story. Most people would never guess that Tsavorite is 200x rarer than Emerald and comes out of the ground with an incredible clarity and color saturation that requires no heat treatment. The rarity comes from simple geography: Tsavorite, names after the Tsavo East National Park in Kenya, can only be found in one place. Tsavorite only forms in one specific geological formation known as the Neoproterozoic Mozambique Orogenic Belt, and commercially it is only found in only one place on Earth: a small, arid (and dangerous) stretch of land along the border of Kenya and Tanzania.
Tsavorite is also very rare in any size above 2 carats, and even 1 carat stones are very rare relative to most other gemstones. Because of the way it's formed, it cannot be mined with large, heavy machinery, and must be mined by hand, a much slower process designed to find Tsavorite in the small sizes in which the crystals survive. And the presence of Vanadium or Chromium in the chemical composition is what gives it that electric green color - no man-made enhancement necessary.
This necklace also includes small Tsavorite settings higher up the chain, that will fall closer to your collarbone. In the photos of the necklace on the mannequin hand, we placed those small settings close to the main setting just for the purposes of getting them in clear photos, but we also included photos of the necklace on a full mannequin torso to show the space between the main setting and the small settings.
The total wearable length of the necklace is approximately 18.5-19", and the small round Tsavorite settings sit at the center of the chain, around 4.5" from the main setting and 4.5" from the clasp on each side.
The main setting itself measures approximately .6" x .6". Total weight is 5.3 grams.
