This pretty ring has a center stone that we've struggled to identify with certainty. It's a light purple color but with chatoyancy (cat's eye effect) - it may not be obvious in our photos, but you'll see it in person. Sugilite with chatoyancy is exceptionally rare, so that likely rules out Sugilite as the center stone. Our research, and the presence of chatoyancy, indicates it's most likely Charoite.
Regardless, you're getting the stone for free, whatever it is, because we're selling this beauty at just above melt value. The band and setting are solid 14K Yellow Gold, fully hallmarked, with a total ring weight of 3.8 grams. Even allowing for the weight of the Charoite, the setting alone has a melt value of over $240. So you're only paying for the gold here - you're getting the Charoite for free.
The top setting measures 10mm x 8.5mm measured across the Charoite cabochon, with a rise of approximately 10mm / .4" up off the finger. The band itself is a size 5.5 as measured on our own ring mandrel.
The ring look fantastic. Please note the fissure line around the waist of the Charoite - it's not cracked, that's just a surface fissure line around the stone.
